NATIONAL GAMES OF THE ANCIENT GREEKS
4 DAYS, 4 GAMES, 4 SITES
Day 1: The first day of your tour away from Athens you head South. After a short stop at the Corinth Canal, you visit Isthmia and then you continue with Nemea, to visit the site and it’s amazing museum. Take advantage of a visit to a winery for wine tasting, since you're on the Wine Roads of Europe! Continue to Nafplion where your hotel is ( on the way, optional visit of Mycenae). Enjoy a pre-dinner walking tour (provided by your guide*). Dinner. Overnight.
Day 2: After breakfast, you'll head to Olympia, via Tripolis & Megalopolis. Upon arrival, lunch and then you visit the birthplace of the Olympic Games and the Museum. Check into your room. Rest of afternoon free to enjoy the pool of your hotel. Dinner. Overnight
Day 3: Morning visit of the Old Museum where all findings related to the ancient games are and then, you continue to Delphi, via the Bridge, Nafpaktos, Galaxeidi ( lunch) and Itea. Swimming is an option, before to drive up to Delphi. Rest of time free to explore Delphi. Dinner. Overnight.
Day 4: Today, you'll enjoy a (guided*) tour of Apollo's Oracle up to the Ancient Stadium and down to the Gymnasium. You'll also visit the beautiful Museum and you'll take photos of the Ancient Pronaia. Lunch in the village of Delphi and then continue to Athens via Arachova ( short stop) and Orchomenos.
